What We Do

FinderTrip publishes destination guides driven by data, not deals. For every city we cover, we research the same questions travelers actually ask — not the questions that are easy to answer.

Each guide breaks down the experience for a specific traveler type: couples, solo travelers, families, budget backpackers, digital nomads, seniors, and more. The same city looks completely different depending on who's visiting and why. We build separate pages for each perspective instead of one generic guide that's useful to nobody.

How We Research

Every page starts with structured research across multiple verified sources: government tourism boards, transit authorities, recent visitor data, and local pricing. We verify prices, opening hours, and visa requirements directly from official sources, and we date every piece of time-sensitive data.

We use AI to help compile and synthesize research at scale — but the criteria, the scoring formulas, the editorial decisions about what matters to each traveler type, and the quality checks are human-designed. AI doesn't decide what a couples traveler cares about. We do.

How We Score Cities

We compute proprietary scores per traveler type — not a single overall rating. A city that scores 9.4 for romance may score 6.1 for digital nomads. The same city. Different scores. Because the relevant criteria are completely different.

Score components are documented in our Methodology page. Scores are computed from real data, not editorial opinion. We never write the score first and reverse-engineer the data to match.

Our Affiliate Relationships

FinderTrip earns commissions when you book tours, hotels, and experiences through links on this site. This is how we fund the research operation — we have no investors and no advertising revenue.

Our affiliate relationships do not determine what we recommend. We don't feature a tour because it pays a higher commission. We feature tours with the highest review counts, strongest ratings, and best fit for the specific traveler type. If a tour doesn't meet our criteria, it doesn't appear regardless of what it pays.

What We Don't Do

• We don't accept payment for placement or rankings
• We don't use personal bylines — guides are the product of the research process, not one person's opinion
• We don't recommend things we haven't verified — if a restaurant's hours are unverified, we don't list them as current
• We don't publish pages that fail our quality gate — thin, generic, or duplicate content is blocked before it reaches the site
• We don't use Google Maps or any mapping service that could change its API pricing and break the site overnight

Data Freshness

Time-sensitive data ages. Prices change. Restaurants close. Visa requirements shift without notice. Every page shows when its data was last verified, and we flag specific data types (prices, transit times, visa data) when they haven't been refreshed within their expected window.

If you spot outdated information, let us know. We take freshness seriously because stale information causes real problems for real travelers.
